1/5 Summer Bouquet: Today is the start of our 2021 Summer Bouquet Subscription. The summer annuals are just starting to bloom and will soon be the show stoppers. These include, Zinnias, Cosmos, Sunflowers & Dahlias! Today's bouquets: include a variety of snapdragons, coneflowers and globe amaranth. Do you know why they are called Snapdragons??? Because the flowers' fancied resemblance to the face of a dragon that opens and closes its mouth when laterally squeezed. Go ahead squeeze one! Behind the scenes on the farm: we have been busy weeding.. lots of rain equals lots of weeds! Weeds take water and nutrients from our flowers. Now that the heat is among us.. the girls start working at 7am. We can only cut flowers in the early morning, before the extreme heat. They work from 7-10am cutting, weeding, and feeding the flowers with natural compost tea spray... we open the Potting Shed at 10 am and start the day! Meanwhile.. I am trying to figure out how to seamlessly email all of the subscribers and set up SMS text groups and reminders :)) Thank you for supporting our farm. Kristy & Jeremiah |
